Guy Morton

Coach Guion “Guy” Morton Jr. brings over 25 years of coaching and mentorship experience to the Decatur football program, having worked with young athletes at every level of youth and high school football on both the East Coast and West Coast. His love for the game began on the field as a player in junior high and high school, but it was a knee injury that redirected his path—turning what could have been a setback into a lifelong calling. Since beginning his coaching journey in 2001, Coach Guy has never stopped investing in the lives of young athletes through football.

Coach Guy began his coaching career in Virginia, where he introduced the fundamentals of the game to players as young as six years old through youth flag football before transitioning into tackle football with the Tidewater Wolves in Hampton, working with 7th and 8th grade players in their formative athletic years. He also lent his time and expertise to youth basketball with the Kappa Cardinals, demonstrating a commitment to youth development that extends beyond the gridiron. After relocating to Washington in 2019, he joined the Federal Way Titans coaching staff, adding to his experience on both the offensive and defensive line, and currently serves as Head Coach of the C2C Rams 14U program and as Assistant Athletic Director—roles that reflect the trust and respect he has earned in the community.

At Decatur, Coach Guy’s presence in the trenches is grounded in a philosophy of toughness, accountability, and respect. He believes that the lessons of the offensive and defensive line—sacrifice, selflessness, and the willingness to do the hard, unglamorous work so others can succeed—are among the most transferable lessons football has to offer. He coaches with passion and purpose, and his players know that his investment in them goes far beyond the Friday night lights.
